Hello all, I am just back from a wonderful two day Artist Retreat at the studio of Shirley Mancino, in beautiful Westport, Ontario. I stayed at a lovely B & B called the George Street B & B run by a very knowledgable art collector, Kathy Rothwell. I would recommend it to anyone travelling in that area. The workshop/retreat itself was a joy and very freeing (not my usual style of work). The intent was to loosen up and I certainly did that. I am including one panel of a triptic (3) pieces. This panel is mostly finished, but the other two are not. I will post again once I have completed the other two panels. So far it doesn't have a name but I just love the distance achieved in the upper right hand corner. It is a little hard to tell what is is with only one panel, so to help you along I am trying to describe an early morning sunrise, looking inland from a boat with the mountains still in darkness and just the village lights showing. This is completed purely from my imagination with acrylic free flow paints. My intent was to have a recognizable landscape while keeping it more or less abstract and/or whimsical.

Thought I would try a couple of new things this summer. One of which is Portrait painting, so here is my initial attempt. Please be gentle with your comments. It is called "Portrait of a Women" and is not for sale.
